(October 15, 2024) On October 15, Rev. Amy Lawrence of the Manokin Presbyterian Church in Princess Ann spoke to the Snow Hill Rotary Club about the Eastern Shore Long Term Recovery Committee.
The Committee was originally formed following the devastation in Crisfield caused by Super Storm Sandy in 2012. The focus of the group was to address the need to repair flood damaged properties and take steps to mitigate future damage by raising houses above the projected water level. Since 2012, the Committee has responded to other less publicized incidents of flood damage to properties in Somerset and Dorchester Counties.
