The Rotary Club of Snow Hill hosted a Holiday House Tour on December 14, 2019. Included in the tour were nine beautiful historic homes decorated for the holidays in all their unique splendor. In addition to the featured homes, the tour included two National Registry listed historic churches. Proceeds: All proceeds from the Holiday House Tour go to the following local scholarship programs. Larry Knudsen Service Scholarship The Rotary Club of Snow Hill designates $6000 (one scholarship for $1500
renewable for 3 years) to be awarded to a Snow Hill High School graduate
who is a role model in their class in the area of service to their

“Larry” Knudsen was a member and past president of the Snow Hill Rotary
Club. He was instrumental in the recruitment of many current Snow Hill
Rotary Club members. He is fondly remembered by the club as an advocate
for children and a proponent of community service. Larry served on the
boards of Haven House Ministry and Furnace Town Museum, was an elder of
Makemie Presbyterian Church, and an Eagle Scout. Larry was a proud
veteran. Laurel Anderson Nursing Scholarship The Rotary Club of Snow Hill
has awarded scholarships for 2nd-career students since 2016. The
scholarship is named in honor of longtime Club member and nurse, Laurel
Anderson. The scholarship will award $1,000 for each year of the 2-year
nursing program from any qualified institution. |
