Iron Furnace Fifty 2019

Iron Furnace Fifty 2019

The Ninth Annual Iron Furnace Fifty was held on May 11, 2019. The weather was perfect and the attendance was record breaking. There were 340 riders -- a 13% increase over 2018. Iron Furnace Fifty is an annual Spring bike ride through the beautiful rural Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland organized by the Rotary Club of Snow Hill and Furnace Town Living Heritage Village. There are 50K, 50 Mile, and 100K routes on rural Maryland roads among woods and farms. All routes begin and end at Furnace Town.

Since the inception of this event, Iron Furnace Fifty has grown into a favorite event for bicycle clubs from around the region. It also introduces the riders to the amenities of downtown Snow Hill and Worcester county gems like the Furnace Town Living Heritage Village.

In addition to the enjoying the natural beauty of the Pocomoke Forest, riders are provided free ice cream from a working dairy at one of the rest stops. Lunch and drinks are provided at the end of the ride at the Furnace Town picnic pavilion.
