About Us
The Rotary Club of Snow Hill, Maryland, offers opportunities for our members and partner in making a difference in our local community and throughout the world. Through meetings, weekly guest speakers, social events, and volunteer projects, our members learn about the issue facing our community and communities all over the world, partnering with local, national, and global experts to exchange ideas about potential solutions and to draw up action plans to respond. Along with these opportunities to serve, members are also able to regularly network, resulting in lifelong friendships and business connections.
Our club has been a proud part of this community and of Rotary International for since 1942. Rotary is a global network of more than 1.2 million members who believe that great things happen when dedicated minds come together. we are community and business leaders representing different professions, experiences, and perspectives but with a shared desire to connect with others to address the challenges affection our community and communities around the world.
Making a Difference
Solving real problems takes real effort, commitment, and vision. Rotarians work to protect communities from preventable disease, keep women and children healthy, improve education and economic outcomes, create safe water and sanitation infrastructure, and make our community and the world a more peaceful place.
We work with various partners on the following projects: - Supporting education by awarding scholarships to Snow Hill area graduates and residents, recognizing outstanding teachers by providing an annual appreciation dinner, donating books to libraries;
- Promoting biking while highlighting our natural and historic resources by offering a scenic 50 mile/50K bike tour;
- Adopt-a-Highway clean-up projects with Snow Hill High School Jr. ROTC;
- Sponsor an Interact Club and peer leadership training for local high school;
- Support low-income families with book bags, Christmas packages, and weekend snacks;
- Providing shelter for disaster struck areas around the globe through the Shelter Box program;
- Ending polio - Partnering with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and World Health Organization to end polio.
